MASCHINOT/OLIVER
New York based duo MASCHINOT/OLIVER consists of artists Christopher Maschinot and Anna Oliver. They began working together on a collection of ceramics in the spring of 2021. Collaborating has allowed them to work more freely and expand on their individual practices, encouraging each other to take risks and experiment. Maschinot sculpts each piece and treats the surface, playing with form and texture in new ways. Oliver adds color, translating her sensibilities to a new medium. Together, they juxtapose form and finish to create unique pieces alive with color and movement.
Christopher Maschinot is a New York-based ceramic artist. He received his BFA in Ceramics from the University of Georgia in 2008. He moved to New York City in 2010 and established his own studio practice shortly thereafter.
Anna Oliver is a New York-based painter. She studied graphic design and painting at Boston University before moving to New York City in 2011. After working in the fashion industry, she pivoted to pursue painting.
